POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
Before participating, participants should review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.
STRACKALINE YARDAGE BOOK:
The SCGA and StrackaLine have teamed up to allow our participants the availability to purchase StrackaLine Yardage & Green booklets at a 20% discount. Click here to purchase your StrackaLine Booklet. All booklets conform to the Rules of Golf and may be used in tournament play.
LODGING:
The Mar Monte Hotel, Santa Barbara, has offered a rate of $259++ a night, located on Cabrillo Blvd., approximately 4 miles away from the course, or view other Local Hotel Availability.
FORMAT:
- 54-hole stroke play championship
- 84 players will play 18-holes each day on Monday, November 10 & Tuesday, November 11.
- Cut to the low 30 scores and ties for the final 18-holes on Wednesday, November 12.
- Awards will be given to those who finish in 1st through 3rd place. In the event of a tie for first place, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of regular play.
- The low scorer will receive a Gold Medal, and their name will be engraved on the California Senior Amateur Perpetual trophy. Second place will receive a Silver Medal. Third place will receive a Bronze Medal. Duplicate medals will be awarded to all ties in 2nd and 3rd place.
- This championship is a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) counting event.
EXEMPTIONS AWARDED:
- The Champion receives the following:
- 10-year exemption into the California Senior Amateur Championship.
- SCGA Exemptions: 2026 Mid-Amateur, 2026 Senior Amateur, 2026 Amateur, & 2026 Senior Match Play Championships.
- NCGA Exemptions: 2026 Mid-Amateur & 2026 Senior Amateur Championships
- 2026 California Amateur Championship
- 2026 U.S. Senior Open Final Qualifying
- The top-5 and ties receive the following:
- Exemption into the 2026 SCGA Senior Match Play Championship.
- The top-10 and ties receive the following:
- Exemption into the 2026 California Senior Amateur Championship.
- Exemption into the 2026 SCGA Senior Amateur Championship.
- Exemption into the 2026 NCGA Mid-Amateur & NCGA Senior Amateur Championships
REGISTRATION:
All players are to check in with the SCGA/NCGA staff near the Golf Shop to receive their player gift and to acknowledge that they are on the property at the championship.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
The Valley Club and its membership have generously agreed to host one complimentary practice round for each participant in the championship. Please note that the practice round will only be offered on one day. No practice rounds can be booked with The Valley Club outside of this day, and no practice rounds will be offered on the weekend before the championship. Contestants will be emailed the available practice round dates.

- Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with various facilities throughout the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures regarding practice rounds. The host facility will provide these opportunities at their sole discretion.
- We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:
- Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week before the championship.
- Round 1 starting times: 8 a.m. – 11:54 a.m., utilizing a #1 tee start.
- Round 2 starting times: 8 a.m. – 11:54 a.m., utilizing a #1 tee start.
- Round 3 starting times: 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., utilizing a #1 tee start. (The low 30 scores + ties)
- Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes before their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.
TEES & YARDAGE:
All yardages and course information can be found in the Yardage Information tab located on the Championship Portal.
DRIVING RANGE:
- The driving range will be available by 7 a.m. each morning of the championship.
- Range balls will be provided compliments of the Valley Club of Montecito.
- The upper range is for short iron use only; the lower range is available for full-length shots.
FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES: .
- All championship participants will receive lunch after their round at the clubhouse.
- Caddies and spectators may make purchases for F&B at the clubhouse.
- Limited F&B will be available on course at the Kiosk near #10 green.
- Cash will be the only payment accepted for F&B purchases.
- Reciprocal charges will be accepted in the Golf Shop.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf, as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.
- Local Rules and Terms of the Competition can be found on the SCGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players.

GOLF CARTS, PULL/PUSH CARTS:
- Golf carts are optional at the player’s expense during the championship ($25 per player); however, players who are able and willing to walk may do so. Cash and reciprocal charges are accepted in the golf shop.
- Due to a limited number of golf carts at the Valley Club of Montecito pairings will be arranged to maximize riders being paired with walkers. Championship participants can expect to receive a survey asking if they wish to walk or ride. A maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart will be enforced. Many groups may only have one cart in their group. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
- Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
- Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
- Pull or push carts are permitted. Limited push carts are available for rental ($15 per player).
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
- Players may provide their caddie (see the section on golf carts).
- Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.
DRESS CODE:
Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.
CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:
- To withdraw for any reason before the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
- Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
- Refund Policy:
- Cancelation before the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
- Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours before the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
- Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
